Big Week-May 4-11

First. Happy Mother's Day!

Bob returned to Argentina this week! He wasn't happy to go. Poor man spent most of his time off taking care of things for me and I did appreciate his help. He also spent a lot of time and angst helping Drew weigh his options. He was most devastated not to get to see Cash before he left.

Career Ladder is my world right now. I have re-done books and done training. I have one more training session left, a school board presentation, and then hopefully nothing else. This past Thursday, I did a little presentation for my principal's retirement. It went well and I made the man tear up and laugh. I attended my monthly writing group meeting. In the mail I got my entry back from the writing contest and I didn't win. Didn't expect to, and I got a lot of feedback I can use to improve what I am doing.

HOWEVER, I did get honored by our local FFA-Agriculture group for my contribution. Over the years, I have done a lot of speech judging for the group. Yes, that's right I got an honorary chapter degree for FARMING! Those of you who remember some of the trials of my first marriage know why that is so ironic.

Rachel and Cash returned from Indiana book buying. Rachel made good money, Cash fell and hit his head and had to go to the emergency room, Rachel crashed a Sonic drive-in just a little. But they returned alive. Rachel bought new living room furniture. Cash runs everywhere and he told me, "Iloveyou." We also had a discussion over whether the round light in my room was a ball or a light. I would say light and he would grin and keep saying "Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw, Ball!"

Veronica finished staying with Grandma Goldie and so happy to see her mom and Cash. Especially Cash. She turned 7 on Friday. Four of her friends came over and spent the night. Drew, Robin, Bev, and I attended her pizza/cupcake party and a great time was had by all. Cash was wore out so he came home with me. Funny moments. Veronica got two dresses and when Rachel held them up, Cash was soooooooo excited that he RAN across the room to see them saying "Ohhhhhhhh!" Then he got a hold of Veronica's card that played music when he opened it. That intrigued him and he was thrilled. The highlight of the evening was when Bev volunteered to let the girls make her over with the makeup kit. We pray she was not pulled over on the way home, as we don't how she would ever explain her new look to the cops.

Our most life-changing news for this week is that Drew has enlisted in the Army. He will be going to Fort Benning, GA the first week of June. I hope it will help him be "all that he can be". He is going to try to be an Army Ranger. I am being brave. I am scared shitless.

Haven't heard from Mike and Ryan. Got their report cards. Heard that their mom's school bus that she drives got hit in the parking lot and she has whiplash.

My mom is having back trouble. Pinched sciatic nerve. Painful and it made her last days of her vacation to casinos in Mississippi unpleasant.

Finally, Rach and I agreed what we wanted most for Mother's Day was a day off. Last night, I had dinner with Rachel and Drew and the kids. Today, we are just taking care of stuff and resting. It is a gift, with the way our lives have been.

Enjoy your week!
