Big Week-May 4-11

First. Happy Mother's Day!

Bob returned to Argentina this week! He wasn't happy to go. Poor man spent most of his time off taking care of things for me and I did appreciate his help. He also spent a lot of time and angst helping Drew weigh his options. He was most devastated not to get to see Cash before he left.

Career Ladder is my world right now. I have re-done books and done training. I have one more training session left, a school board presentation, and then hopefully nothing else. This past Thursday, I did a little presentation for my principal's retirement. It went well and I made the man tear up and laugh. I attended my monthly writing group meeting. In the mail I got my entry back from the writing contest and I didn't win. Didn't expect to, and I got a lot of feedback I can use to improve what I am doing.

HOWEVER, I did get honored by our local FFA-Agriculture group for my contribution. Over the years, I have done a lot of speech judging for the group. Yes, that's right I got an honorary chapter degree for FARMING! Those of you who remember some of the trials of my first marriage know why that is so ironic.

Rachel and Cash returned from Indiana book buying. Rachel made good money, Cash fell and hit his head and had to go to the emergency room, Rachel crashed a Sonic drive-in just a little. But they returned alive. Rachel bought new living room furniture. Cash runs everywhere and he told me, "Iloveyou." We also had a discussion over whether the round light in my room was a ball or a light. I would say light and he would grin and keep saying "Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw, Ball!"

Veronica finished staying with Grandma Goldie and so happy to see her mom and Cash. Especially Cash. She turned 7 on Friday. Four of her friends came over and spent the night. Drew, Robin, Bev, and I attended her pizza/cupcake party and a great time was had by all. Cash was wore out so he came home with me. Funny moments. Veronica got two dresses and when Rachel held them up, Cash was soooooooo excited that he RAN across the room to see them saying "Ohhhhhhhh!" Then he got a hold of Veronica's card that played music when he opened it. That intrigued him and he was thrilled. The highlight of the evening was when Bev volunteered to let the girls make her over with the makeup kit. We pray she was not pulled over on the way home, as we don't how she would ever explain her new look to the cops.

Our most life-changing news for this week is that Drew has enlisted in the Army. He will be going to Fort Benning, GA the first week of June. I hope it will help him be "all that he can be". He is going to try to be an Army Ranger. I am being brave. I am scared shitless.

Haven't heard from Mike and Ryan. Got their report cards. Heard that their mom's school bus that she drives got hit in the parking lot and she has whiplash.

My mom is having back trouble. Pinched sciatic nerve. Painful and it made her last days of her vacation to casinos in Mississippi unpleasant.

Finally, Rach and I agreed what we wanted most for Mother's Day was a day off. Last night, I had dinner with Rachel and Drew and the kids. Today, we are just taking care of stuff and resting. It is a gift, with the way our lives have been.

Enjoy your week!

May Day!

It is MAY! HURRAY!

Bob has been home. That is true until next Wednesday, when he will going back to Argentina. He has been spending some time with Drew. They both recommend the movie, Ironman. Geek Fest! He also has been doing a lot of caring for Veronica this past week. I have been busy.

Career Ladder is my life right now. I have training scheduled for next week. Mandatory training, because some people just won't do what they are supposed to do. Frustrating. However, I get to start reading Of Mice and Men next week. I am so excited!

Rachel and Baby Cash are still in Indiana book buying. Baby Cash is learning many new things. Rachel thought it would be a good idea to teach Baby Cash the Indian noise you make with your hand and mouth. Rachel was so wrong. They will return Wednesday and Bob is sad because he flies before they get back. Baby Cash will be ONE on May 18.

Drew is checking into joining the armed services. I have some mixed feelings about that. I was voicing some concern over Drew's safety and Bob said, "Oh, don't be THAT mom." I told him, "I can assure you, I AM THAT MOM!"

Veronica has been fun while she is staying with us. Tonight we are having game night and she planned the menu...Spaghetti, green beans, and cornbread. I recently introduced her to the joys of Jiffy. BEST of all, this Friday is her birthday! She will be 7 and is having some little girlfriends over.

We planned our vacation for the summer. We are going to Mom's. We never go there in the summer and do anything and we are going for her retirement anyway. We plan to do a float trip, go to an Indian village, go to the lake by her house, and go see O-K-L-H-O-M-A the musical. I think we will have fun.

Still no word from Mike and Ryan. I did mail them a letter and some pictures of Veronica and Cash.

My friend Robin is finishing her last class session for her Masters! Yeah for her!

I am off to work. Today, I need to do laundry, grocery shop, pay bills, help Bob with some yard work, review 76 Career Ladder plans, and plan the training. I also locked myself out of the MS and need someone to let me in. Thank God it is Sunday, the day of REST!
