I'm back! It has been forever and a day since I blogged. Let's catch up!
Bob has been to Spain, Vegas, and Spain. He was extremely tired of traveling and they moved his vacation. Then they tried to take it away again. He was ready to look for another job.
I did things around home.
The last week of July I went with Rachel, Cash, Veronica, and friend Robin to visit my Mom in Oklahoma. Mom had a lovely retirement party at work and then one for friends. She looked great in her suit that Bob picked out! LOTS of people came to her work party and Elvis made an appearance at the evening party. Then she went with friends out of state to gamble.
Then I came home and went to Robin's graduation for her Masters.
Then I got ready for my 23rd year of teaching. It seems to be a good group.
Bob and I got to fly to Georgia to see Drew at boot camp at Fort Benning. I am starting a separate blog for Drew so everyone can keep up on what he is up doing. He was glad to see us and we were glad to see him. He is changing. Lots of muscles, but a little too skinny. Overall he is happy with boot camp. Although, he has some pretty big blisters from the 8 mile hike.
Rachel is working like a madwoman at her father's book company. She comes home dirty and exhausted, but paid. She mostly just works and takes care of the kids, but that is enough to keep her busy and then some. She will never travel with Robin and I again as we don't travel well together.
Veronica has started second grade. I believe her teacher will be great with her. She was very irritated that her mother will not let her pick out her own clothes for school everyday. Hard to believe that starts in second grade. She has spent most of her summer at work with Rachel. The warehouse is a special treat for her and she has crafted everything you can possibly imagine. Veronica is as smart and sassy as can be. She drives poor Rachel nuts with her recently acquired backtalking. She is spending the night in a hotel with Aunt Bebby, aka my sister Bev, as a special treat.
Cash is teething and he is not too happy. He did have a great time visiting at Grandma Martha's. He even did the four hour trip well, although at one point we stopped to get something he had dropped and he said very hopefully, "Done. Done?" He still loves the outdoors. His regular babysitters are a retired couple who live on a farm. They spoil him rotten by taking him out in the tractor to check the cows. Dale went and bought him fish and a tank, because Cash loves fish. His favorite things are tractors.
Mike and Ryan have spent time in CT swimming off the dock in Mystic. They have just moved with their family to an apartment and are getting ready to start their senior years in high school. Wow! Grandma Toni and Grandpa Herman were happy to hear from them when they called.
The fish, Jack is fine. The cat Xena is really thin.
